What would you do if you do if you had an antlered moose tag and a general whitetail tag in your pocket and you are moose hunting in that zone and a nice whitetail buck came out in front of you. But, you are on your last day in that zone to get your moose. Would you let the buck walk and keep going for your moose, or take the buck and hope you have enough daylight left to find a moose?
I'm not the type to say " if it was the last day I'd shoot it".
For me, the standard is the same on day one as it is on the last day.
I'd shoot the wt, spill the guts, tag it and carry on hunting for moose.
Guts and tagging should take maybe ten minutes. Small sacrifice.
It could be loaded up in the dark.
Of course if its warm September then you have a discussion with yourself.
