Default Transporting my own Pheasants

A friend and I are raising some Pheasants for a combined family shoot later in fall. My question is : If I get stopped by a C.O. on my way back; What is my proof that I raised these birds ,traveled 30 kms to where we released them, shot and am bringing them home. Are the bands that are attached from chicks suffice?

If you are going to shoot them outside of the open season, or shoot more than the daily limit , get a permit to shoot them on the private property that you are going to release them on. Carry the permit with you, in case you are checked by an officer.

If the birds are not banded I always get e receipt from the vendor.
To release them on private property. Believe you need a shooting grounds permit but Oldgutpile or wwbirds are two authorities on this subject , they both raise and release to shoot, I just shoot ‘em!

Default There is no requirement to band pheasants anymore

Not sure why yours would have bands unless you placed them there and if it wasnt a F& W band that was eliminated 4 years ago I not sure what purpose they would serve. If during the closed season releases on private land must be under the authority of a ground release permit. It also gives you the authority to shoot and possess hens shot under that permit.
