Default Carson Lake

Went out to Carson yesterday, did good on trout, The action was a little slow but constant.
At around 2 in the afternoon I hooked unto something a little bigger, A sucker about 2 lbs. I wasn't aware that they were in there.
Not telling what I did with it for 2 reasons.

1. If I put it back, I'll get blasted for putting it back.

2. If I left it on the ice, I'll get balsted for leaving it on the ice.

If I kept it and ate it, I think I'm going to throw up

Yup, my youngest pulled in a sucker there last summer. Haven't seen one in a while, so it was neat to see.

I used to see large schools of them under the ice in shallow water and guys would catch them consistantly. Not as many as there used to be might have somthing to do with the crayfish.

I fished Carson 45 years ago and quite a bit since. It was a very good native Trout lake at that time. It became over run with Jacks and F&W killed the lake (can't remember the year)maybe 30 years ago and stocked it with Trout. I just can't believe the Jacks don't seem to have found their way back in there, at least not that I have heard.
Myself and others that fish Slave a lot have noticed a lot more Jacks lately hopefully they don't take the place over.

I've fished it since the early 70's and this is the first sucker I've caught.
They killed off the lake in 78, I think, and built the park in 80, I know that because I worked on it. Since then the lake has been very heavily fished. That hill on the old road in sure stopped a lot of people from going to Carson.

37 years----- time flies when you are busy fishing. I also heard from fairly reliable sources that there have been Ling caught there as well.
