Default Bow Report

Have had the flyrod out for a few weeks now. Can only hold it in my arms and tell it we will soon be out on the water for so long before she starts to call me a liar. So Thursday is the day. I am not much of a Bow guy in Cowtown or even south of it for that matter, its hit a little too hard for my liking even this time of year. So going to hit some runs that have been good to me in the past. I am just looking to see if there has been anyone in the area for a little report.

Thank you much. But on the map link I have marked spots starting in Canmore and ending by Gap Lake.

Not often I will fish within or even close to the city when it comes to the Bow. I will start in Canmore tomorrow and end behind Gap Lake. There is a section closed in there but will just drive around that. Dont like being tbe 9th guy in a hole all in one day. I may do a lot more driving tomorrow but I will be the only guy that day to hit some of them runs

I have only fished within the city limits and to the south, Police Man Flats and a little further downstream. Sorry I can't be much help, but you should let us know how it goes up that. Would love to get up that way on my next days off.

Gonna have to go try it yourself if nobody else has been out that way (or nobody is talking). Get out and have fun. Let us know how it goes.

You're missing out on some good fishing right here in the city tho - but again, nothing beats fishing in the beauty out west.

Good luck

If your the 9th guy fishing a spot maybe try fishing further than the concrete on the boat launch.

I have fished the Bow from one end of Calgary to the other many times. Just prefer to have a little solitude while doing it. Thats a major part if it for me. Even if the fish dont bite its an adventure you never know what you may come across.

Jts, grab your spinning gear and well head to my spot, rarely anybody there, except for 18-20" browns and the occasional lunker rainbow!

Well make sure you update your google maps with the spots you fished today, along with a report on what you caught. Then you will have lots of solitude for next time!

Your right about the thread hijack. To put it back on track I'll post a fishing report...fished from 12-4 today on the bow just outside the city landed 7 and lost 2. Mostly rainbows but did land 2 nice browns. Got most of the fish on sjw but a few took a small stonefly. Only saw 1 other person and never fished anybody elses pounded water. Also I just noticed I got sunburnt, life is good!
