Default NSR Setup

So here's the deal: I already have a 7 foot medium weight ugky stik with a fish eagle 3000 reel. It does alright but is a bit too light being only a medium. I want to buy a new setup for the river and am thinking of maybe trying to get into some sturgeon as well as everything else in the river. I was looking at a cabelas king kat 8ft medium heavy. Just wondering what the tried and true rod/feel/line setups are that you guys are using thanks alot!

For my Sturgeon setup I use a heavy 8'6 shimano Clarus with a extra fast tip and a Abu garcia ambassadeur 6601 C4 that is paired up with 50lb power pro line. I personally run a slider rig with 54lb nylon leader. Ugly stick catfish I think its called in 8' heavy is also a good option I see people use. Probably any good salmon or steelhead rod in Heavy will do the trick paired up with a good reel and 50lb line.
