Default .300 WSM loads

Hey guys; just looking for some of the loads that have been working in the .300 WSM's. I'm looking at loading 165 Accubonds and have RL 25, Retumbo, IMR 7828, IMR 4350, IMR 4831, and Hodgdon Hybrid 100V on my bench right now. I'll be working the loads up through a chrono and will share my findings with anyone interested. Anyone that doesn't like sharing load info on the open forum please ship me off a PM.

Sounds good to me. I've got a load with 168g ttsx's, and H450 that I'm using right now, I'll get it for you if you want when I get home. It's not super fast, iirc it's around 2900fps, getting good groups in my A7 with it though.

I worked on a buddy's 300wsm in a tikka laminate 2 years ago with the 165gr accubond. I did'nt have as much powder available to play with as you have but I did come up with a good 1moa load with 65.0 gr of IMR 4350. Its not a max load but when I increased the powder accuracy opened up so we stuck with the 65gr. Never did chrono it however.

There are some great reviews of the RL17 powder for the short mags. May be worth a try. I'm going to do some work with it this summer to see what happens.
Great velocity results from what guys are posting on the net.

I am currently running Hogdon 4350 under 150 e-tips and having good success I would like to try a slighly heavier bullet like the 165 or 168 grain.

Shooter, Reloader 17 eh ...looks quite promising please keep me posted on your trials

Anyone try the .308 168g Barnes TSX tipped?

IMR 4350, H 4350, and IMR 4831, all gave a good account of themselves when I worked up loads for my 300WSM, that was with 165gr. bullets. Just last weekend I tried some H4350 with some 180's. Accuracy was outstanding, putting 5 shots into 3/4".

Go buy a couple up to date reloading manuals, and follow the recommended process of load development.

Report back what you found worked for your rifle.

good luck.

Worked up a load for my brother's ruger in 300wsm don't know which reloading book
I got it out of 66.5gr IMR4350 with 180 Sierra Game King @ 3012fps avg 1" @100yds
checked with Hodgens reloading online and it seems it might be 1.5grs over max!

I have loaded a batch of 165 Accubonds for my .300 WSM, and the results are promising, the first try, with reduced powder load(2932 FT/S) were shooting an inch at 100 yds. I used Reloader, but cant remember the exact recipe right now. I will get back with some exact figures after the long weekend.

Thanks for the replies and PM's. The Reloader 17 looks like an interesting powder to experiment with for sure.

I loaded 168Gr Barnes TTSX bullets over 68Gr Rl-17
This combination produces about 3250Fps.
Unfortunately accuracy is not so good.

In my Browning A Bolt 300 wsm am using 70 grains RL22, fed215 mag primers with either 180 grain nosler partitions and or 180 grain winchester failsafe. Good accuracy and chrono says approx 2867 fps. I did go to 70.5 grains but got worried about pressure. I have had great luck with RL22 in 300 wsm, 300mag and 3006. I don't look at any other powders any more. Tried Hodgon
H414 but ran into pressure problems quickly.

You might want to try the 150 interbonds-I found they work better in my 300 wsm much better then the 150 or 165 accubonds with imr4350.
