Default Sindh ibex

Sitting in the airport in Istanbul
Figure I’d start this thread now and update it as it Happens
Journey started yesterday at 430am when I left for my 730 departure
Went for Edmonton to San Francisco, had a 3 hour layover, then a 12-13 hour flight over to Istanbul. Anyone that thinks these hunts are a walk in the park have never flown this far. Being cramped on a plane for 12 hours plus sucks lol I don’t fly business or first class. Why is that? Because it costs a small fortune lol. Flights return In economy is around $3200. Bump that up to business it’s $7500-8000.
Running on around 3 hours sleep. Going to try and sleep the whole way from Istanbul to Islamabad. 6 hour flight, arrive at 430 am. From there we fly to Karachi and then drive to the hunting area.

Can’t wait to see what this part of the world is like
Should be pretty cool
Wish me luck

The traffic is unreal
Pictures do not do it justice
10’ of thousands of motorbikes, mixed with cars and no one uses a lane. Add in pedestrians that are fair game when they cross the road and it is mayhem!
You will be doing 50 on a road, have a car beside you come within an inch and a motor cycle will blow by you on the other side the same distance away. And that’s normal lol

Then you have all the rikshaws lol

It’s just wild

We are a day or so behind schedule, the 2 hunters that were in the area we were going to had not finished yet. Guess he missed a couple of urial. The hunting areas are owned by princes. The one we are at is supposed to be 200km by 200km in size. And they only have 2 hunters in it at a time. Just arrived to where we are staying and it is a gigantic beautiful house.
It’s midnight here now and I’m going to hit the hay. Up at 6 am, bite to eat, check the rifle and away we go

The motorbikes are everywhere in the east now, cheap and easy rides for the locals.I was in Bali and you cant walk on the sidewalk without fear of getting run over, same in parts of Thailand and India.

Looking forward to your hunt story.Good luck and enjoy.

Having issues trying to upload pics
Day 1 of hunting was great! The area is so vast and huge and they have so many places to hide that it takes a lot of man power to find the animals. We found a beautiful ibex early on and I couldn’t seal the deal. Rushed shot with a camp rifle on a moving animal at 230 yards. Hoping that we find that one again today. We know there is 3-4 shooters where we are at. But the one is I missed is in a class of his own. I think I made 26000 and some steps yesterday according to my watch. It’s a unique place to visit. Ans so far it’s been great

Day 2 after a lot of searching we were able to connect on great 42” ibex. Super happy. This ibex is well above average for the area, even though this one still was a couple inches shorter than the one we missed on the first day.
