Default Bears near grimshaw

Ok, I finally got my poop together and I'm going bear hunting for a week, Ive never hunted spring bear. I'll fly to grand prairies hop in with my buddy and drive north of Grimshaw (his idea). I understand the poplars are just starting to bud out but not much else is green. Is it too early to go? Buddies idea is to get out before the leaves get too much and we can see better, but I'm a bit concerned that there isn't too much grass yet.

Opinions?

Maybe a touch early but you'll see bears and every day it's getting better.

There are leaves in the valley already should be a good time to go. My buddy has a bait set up by Fairview, he has four different bears coming to it. One looks like a shooter. good luck wish i was going too.

Hopefully it's good, I'm heading north of there this weekend to help Grandpa tidy up the cabin and set a few beaver traps. Fingers crossed we come across a few bears!

Default bears

You need to get north into the Clear hills before you find good black bear populations or on banks of Peace River. A couple years back I was scouting elk/moose and buddy hunting black bear. I would see two bears every day west of Dixonville on the Notikewan. My Buddy changed my name to " Eddy Two Bears" We had trapline/cabin in area so know country well.

West of Valleyview might be handier, bears all over the place up there.

Lots of bears out in the area. Seen several 10-14 days ago in dixonville/manning area. I have lots hitting the baits north of GP! I don't think it is to early at all.

Not too early at all.

I saw a very large one by DeBolt last week, than a smaller one yesterday. And a buddy of mine has a few coming in to his bait very consistently.

Good Luck
