browning BLR lightweight .300WSM

looking at purchasing a BLR lightweight .300wsm. does anyone out there have any comments on this choice? any insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Nice rifle. But with a 300wsm it will more than likely kick like a mule. But admit I have never fired one.
I have the BLR lightweight pistol grip in 30-06 and love it. The recoil, to me, is neglegible. But the amount of felt recoil has a lot to do with rifle weight and how the rifle fits the person shooting it.

There is a new BLR in wsm at P&D in SS laminate, great looking rifle with the longer barrel, doesn't feel all that light, shouldn't have too much recoil.FS

I know it is not the same gun, but my dad has the stainless stalker (SS) in 300 WSM, and it has quite noticably less recoil then my SS in 300 win mag. Both were hurling out 180 grain partitions in reloads. Hope this helps.

I have a Browning 300 wsm, and love it, the things so light you can carry it all day long. The bolt action is a short throw, feels precise and tight, not like other bolt action rifles I've owned. Yes it does kick like a mule, but for sighting I have a muzzle break, when hunting I use no break and have never had to take more than two shots and with all the excitement I don't even realy notice the kick. By far the best rifle I've ever owned. Like it even better than a blond 7mm Sako deluxe I once owned, sold it to a PIMP:hat

The Problem is Boss, he's talking a BLR, and not an A-bolt.

The BLR with it's dropping comb will increase the felt recoil.
Try mounting your scope as low as you can go, this will probably mean a 40mm objective is out of the question.
Also re-fit the rifle with a Limbsaver or Decellerator type recoil pad, but that puppies gonna bark, and bite, she's gonna want to come up and then smack you right in the chops. (Nature of the beast with a lever).
Food for thought.
