Hunting equipment deals
There is a “good deals” thread in the general discussion section, but let’s have one specifically for hunting stuff, so that an occasional great deal doesn’t get lost in all the beef and pork sales at the grocery stores, lol.
I actually couldn’t think of a place to post this, so here is this thread. On the weekend, I bought this little elk call and thought it is worth mentioning for others. It is pretty good! It is $13 (on sale, regular price is $16?), surprisingly good sound, can do different stuff (if you can), very small, and is probably the easiest to use reed call that I have tried (I am talking about “true” reed calls, not the likes of Primos, whatever the model is, etc). Anyway, I am impressed enough to mention it here:
One downside is that it smells like walmart shoe department when you take it out of the package. Hopefully that will go away and doesn’t leak some toxins onto the lips, lol.
Anyway, great call. Especially for “noobs” for the ease of use. I have a feeling it has a potential replacing other calls in my pocket. Nah… Lol. I usually have a couple with me, but this one will likely one of the couple or a third one.

Cabela’s also has other Rocky Mountain elk calls, diaphragms, and tubes on sale currently.

^ I have a few grunt tubes, from 5-dollar ones to more expensive tubes. They all sound the same, imo. But I am also not a “virtuoso” with grunt tubes.

we had some family business in Calgary on the weekend. My BIL has bever been to Bass Pro, so we made a point of stopping in. Found a bino harness in a bin right up front.

I've wanted one for some time but wasn't willing to shell out full buck for them.
They also have the Blaze Orange ones for $30.00.

Received in the email the other day.
Edit: That’d be free shipping on orders $49+

Best time of year for hunting equipment deals with the black friday sales happening now. Precision optics is 10-20% off ending tonight. Lot's more starting tomorrow. EXO starts tomorrow and is 20% off. Seek outside 10% off. List goes on

I've been 'agonizing' since last year about whether or not to upgrade my Badlands Super Day and 2800 to a high end bag. Hours and hours of research have narrowed my choices down to Exo, Seek Outside, or Stone Glacier (free shipping only). Hard to imagine paying $1000+ for a backpack. I can't decide!

I don't know anything about the seek outside. EXO and Stone Glacier are both in the top 3. My personal preference is the EXO over the Stone Glacier and Kifaru. I'm sure others have different preferences. Can't go wrong with either of the 3.
I can promise you, if you upgrade to one of those 3, you will never regret your decision the first time you use it.
I went with 2 bags, a 3200 and 6400. Super easy to switch out the bags to go from a day pack to a few day trip pack

The few things I looked at are their usual “sale” price, even though they are stating the entire store. I guess if your usual price is supposedly a “sale” price, the claim is true.

Calgary Shooting Centre has some Tikka T3X rifles for a little bit off. For example they have the T3X Hunter (wood stock) on for $1080 (reg $1200).
Not bad for 2022 I guess.

I have the Flash 3200 (Discontinued) I enjoy it, I would like to get a smaller bag tho. I think the most I've had in it was just over 40lbs, Didn't seem like the most comfortable bag I could have gotten tho. Next bag will be a Kifaru or Stone Glacier

I've been leaning towards the EXO 3200, thinking I'll likely go for it. Lots of great features. Just trying to settle on frame size, I'm on the top end of the grey area in the chart. Looking forward to it!

Coffin Blinds on sale.
I have both the Shadow-Free, and the Renegade. I like
the Renegade far better. It's much simpler to set up and a little more roomy for big guys.
And right now it's even cheaper than the Shadow-Free.
