Default Wild hogs

You here-see about the wild pig problems in the USA
Does Alberta have a problem with these things or is it being contained good here?

Yes, I am aware of the wild pig issue in USA. Not sue regarding containment in AB but wild pigs do exist and do a lot of damage to crops, contaminate water sources by wallowing in wetlands and harass livestock. Alberta does have issues with wild pigs which can be found through out the province. Hunting wild pigs in AB is simple such that when a location which holds them is found people get tight lipped as to were they are.

The biggest issues with wild pigs in Alberta is getting access, and the fact the buggers are seriously nocturnal.

If do get access, how do you legally hunt them after legal light?

In BC night hunting is illegal, wild pigs or anything else, just like in Alberta (an hour before sunrise and after subset vs half an hour in Alberta).

No hunting or shooting after legal light in Alberta.
Section 28 & 53 of the Wildlife Act.
Regardless of equipment used.

There are two exceptions, but unless you have the necessary dispensation from the “Minister of things outdoorsy”, or have a documented type of ancestry, you’re pretty much screwed.

Where the heck are you from?

Found that…….

He sure is going hard to post, wonder what he is itching to sell, or perhaps what his past username could have been.

With a trap.

In the Alberta area with the greatest pig problem that I know of, the local farmers are using remote controlled traps around bail stacks.

^ Hunting/trapping hint for the day, this is where the pigs go stay warm when it gets really cold.

Being from BC isn't a crime.

Joining a forum (or probably re-joining) and bypassing swear filters, and then insulting other members right from the get go is.

But, I see somebody else already got you.
