Not sure I want to eat a spring bear...I do like well grazed fall bear though.

I thought the same thing. I did shoot one in May last year and was very surprised at the amount of fat, he was still full of fat and the meat has been terrific. He was also a good size bear weighing 225 dressed….so I can only assume he would have been a bit bigger in the fall while fattening up for his winters rest lol.
