Shed hunting dogs

I have been doing some digging on getting my brothers dog into shed hunting at my recreational spot. I am unfortunately too allergic to dogs to have my own.

Does anybody have a training method that has worked for them? I've seen the commercial scents and artificial antlers but wonder if using real would be better/faster in training a dog new to hunting sheds.
