Default Fish for fun and fish for food.

I was fishin' at a trout stocked lake where the main catch is "slim" short trout from last years stocking and the odd little perch. But there are some brood stock fish in the lake (they are kind of "ugly" and I'm not sure how they wood taste but they are a BIG FISH). Well the bobber bobed and i set the hook on something with some weight. After an interesting handline battle I pulled this brute through the hole onto the ice. I snapped a couple pictures and put it back down the hole. I noticed a little blood on the snow where it had been for the pics as I had to slip a finger into its gill cover to remove it from the water. Hope it lives to give another angler the same kind of thrill it gave me.

Another time, another place I killed just part of a limit. These will be part of my heart smart diet.
