Default Homemade guns built for less than $20 are 'up close and personal' weapons present in Saskatchewan

'Everyone is accurate at 1 foot away': Zip guns are rare but dangerous

People who are making homemade zip guns tend to be people who want to stay out of the crosshairs of the government and who want to circumvent the gun control laws that are already on the books," said Lee.

In Regina there have been 10 zip guns seized from January to August of this year.
As for how many of these weapons are present, Lee says there is no way to know for sure, but echoes that they are rare.

When are the Libs going to start a zipgun registry?

Those should be banned, totally unsafe. I bet some are even black assault zip guns. Think of the children....

4 seized in Saskatoon and 10 seized in Regina alone but they are "rare"?

Did you see how many sawed off shotguns they seized this year??

From Jan. 1, 2017 to Oct. 24, 2017, the SPS have seized four zip guns. By comparison, in the same time frame 72 sawed-off shotguns have been seized.

I think zip guns are the least of their problems.....probably all those sawed off guns belong to law abiding gun owners with PAL and everything.

We made a few of them when I was a rotten teenager. They looked a lot better than those monstrosities. Managed to fire them a few times and still have all our fingers too, so they must have been safe!
One of the other things people used to do was to take 22cal starter pistols and drill the barrel out. Now those things were dangerous!

From the article -
"From Jan. 1, 2017 to Oct. 24, 2017, the SPS have seized four zip guns.
By comparison, in the same time frame 72 sawed-off shotguns have
been seized."

So instead of writing a good article about the far more dangerous and much more numerous sawed off shotguns,
they write a lead article on those stupid little zip guns?!

We made a zip gun back when I was a teenager, used a car airial, taped it in a wooden stock and put elastic bands which powered a flat piece of steel with a nail through it. Didn't work so it was abandoned. But I agree, something should be done.

Zip guns, really? People in our country need to stop smoking crack and, stop writing useless articles on stuff like this, oh and all the mass shooting in Canada, what a joke. They should put these articles where they belong, in the national enquirer.
