Disappointed, starts out ok but turns into mostly a fictional docudrama overly focused on female alternative lifestyles in the old west. Leaves you wondering what the show was really about. 2 stars out of 5.

I give it more than 2 out of 5 just because it's a western. I have one episode left until I've watched them all and I have watched worse. But I agree with you on the alternative lifestyle focus. If only production companies can leave that stuff out and get to making good shows without all this nonsense.

Just started watching this show tonight. Still not sure how I feel about it. A good western is a hard thing to find these days. I did like Hell on Wheels although I thought the last season was a whirlwind hurry up and wrap everyone's stories up so we can get this over with.

Is this something new? I suppose it would open the playing field if it means he can give and get. Lgbqt doesn’t have a p in it. Must be really messed up if they won’t include them in their group parades.

No it's not in the above list. Same as the 'Two spirited' fellow and his dog that is following around the sheriff. Not in the list either. I think your list is not inclusive enough.

Just starting to watch Godless. Seeing some actors that I like from other shows.
Sam Waterston - law and order
Jeff Daniels - Newsroom
Merritt Weaver - Nurse Jackie
Scoot McNairy - Halt and Catch Fire

And now you guys are saying there's gonna be some female alternative lifestyle stuff going on?
Any chance that it's Alice and the school teacher?

Did anyone watch Taboo? Saw the first episode and thought it was pretty cool. Not sure if it was on Netflix though

Thumbs up Godless

So the wife and I finished the Godless series last night. For the most part we really liked it, and gave it 4 Stars out of 5. It's certainly not an epic, but it was the best western series we've seen in long time.

However, for those who prefer the white-washed westerns of old (e.g. 1960's Grade B western movies, etc.), they should probably skip this series. Godless wasn't made/intended for the Neanderthal mindset.

There is only one western series at the top of the hill. Deadwood. Worth buying the dvd set. Don't expect your normal oater but the acting is superb.
