Default Where to recycle air compressor - Calgary

Hi.

I have this clunker air compressor that I need to get rid off. A friend gave it to me after I helped him with his home renovations. Last time we used it was over 7 years ago and it ran just fine. It sat in my garage since then not in use. I just tried running it and it blew my breaker in my garage. So pretty sure it's shot. One of the gauges never worked on it either.

Does anyone know where in Calgary I can recycle this thing? Unless someone on here needs it for parts or wants to try and get it running, you can have it. It has a nail/staple gun with it.

Thanks

I'm sure if you put it on the curb with a "Free" sign it will be gone in 20 minutes.

A tool repair shop may give you a couple bucks for it. They'll at least take it off your hands.

Warm it up in your house first, and then plug it in.

You could take it to Federal Metals in SE Calgary, might even get $2 for the weight. Best part is while you are there you can rummage through their used metal pile and pick up some metal for other projects. They sell their used stuff by the pound (cheap cheap).

Thanks for all the feedback. The solution was to bring it in the house for a few hours to warm it up. Plugged it in garage after and ran just fine.
