Upper Mcleod. If the current is to fast to get a fly down in the deeper pools, tie your main line to a nail, size according to depth and speed of water, and tie two take offs higher up and then attach flies to those.

Hey Anvil , I would like to try for rainbows , kind of tired of walleye and pike,
it's been a non stop action every weekend past this summer, and I don't know much about catching white fish lol, so I was thinking maybe do some trout fly fishing or bait fishing , don't matter, I don't favour one over the other....

one of my fishing buddies mentioned Salters Lake, supposed be on fire right now, but I've never been there and his directions sounded so confusing that after he said take second turn here and there I already forgot everything he said at the begining, so I'm in the blind here, but still wanna head out on Sunday, how early are you leaving ??

Hey morph,

Not to sure as to how early we are gonna be leaving, me personally I"d like to be out the door by 6am or earlier the better half likes to sleep in and she is coming with so..... but looks like I'll be lucky if i can get out by 8 or 9am.... I'm attending a rather large family party for my uncle who is turning the big 50 Saturday night, not gonna be out to late and I'm not drinking tomorrow however its getting her up and out the door that slows down the day...lol

White fishing isn't all that bad... I've managed a few this year out of the McCleod on the fly.... Like Bigbore I just use a coat hanger.....and a fly on the line.....works great.
Heard the Red Deer River has some nice browns in to??

I wouldn't mind going for trout!

Kinda surprised we have not heard from BBJ yet.

"one of my fishing buddies mentioned Salters Lake, supposed be on fire right now, but I've never been there and his directions sounded so confusing" no doubt morph
i'll second that; been there once in the winter and couldn't find it again in a month of sundays lol

we went in the winter, but a few people thought it was still open water season ... standing like 2 feet from open water and spincasting; we were about 80 yards back and the ice was only 7" thick

BBJ sent me a text earlier today saying he had seen some game, but i dont know if he had any success. He stopped texting me after that. So i figure he lost his phone, or he shot a deer and is not scratching his head on where to start with the knife. HAHA

Check out Danni's thread about her kidney stones. By far, Off in the Bushes had the funniest line I've ever read (bottem of page 1)!

Man, I can't wait for Johnny's thread about today!

The 'Maverick' thing comes from us giving Lethalconnection a hard time for posting pics of himself wearing aviator sunglasses. We miss him around here.

Anyway, John et all, here is a great tribute to Lethal, Maverick and Goose. Perhaps PBJ and RNP could try this trick.

Well everyone,

I'm not 100% sure where I'm gonna go fishing today...still have a few hours to decide.....

My choices are

1) McCleod River/Embarrass/Pembina and Forestry Trunk Road south of Hwy 16
2) Pigeon Lake
3) Lac St.Anne/Wabamun/Lake Isle.
4) Red Deer River/Dickson Dam
5) Little Smokey River

If anyone has any advice as to how these bodies are fishing right now if not I will post later this evening as to how well things went and where I ended up going.

Cheers all, hope to see and hear from a few of you!

I hope to hit up spray lakes today but maybe sometime I might take a trip a little further and see whats biting more north of here. How far is Pidgeon lake of a drive from Canmore? Ive heard a few people mention it since I been out here.

Just got back from Hasse, it was almost a waste of time lol,
lots of people at the dock , could hardly squeeze inbetween ,
The fishing sucked, I only witnessed 15 fish being caught all day,
4 of my buddies, just small rainbows and lol I caught 5 perch on a fly hehe,
thinking you're hitting a trout lake, especially fly fishing and you end up catching perch, caught 5 perch on back swimmer and had about 10 misses,
and landed one 12" trout. buy the way the barometric pressure was rising today... what a strange day. last weekend when I was there caught about 30 - 40 perch and about 10 rainbows,
Well we'll see what the next weekend brings.
How was everyone else doing today ??? .

Cheers !
