Default Thank you all bowhunters

Just want to thank all of the AOL members who have known me and put up with me.
Mostly want to give thanks to people who helped me over the years, Neil, LC, mods etc.
Too many people to mention after all the years gone bye.

One thing I do know is these people have helped me through tough times in the past.
And would do so at the drop of a hat if I asked them today.

These people are friends, true friends.

Even when I don't post I read the posts in Fishing Section
just to see what ice thickness are running and catches are doing in Jan, Feb. etc.
Some wonderfule pictures and stories have come from that these past few years.
You people made me feel like I was right there with you in that ice shannty.
Thank you all.

Many of them including myself are oldtimeres but none the less they are honest.

And we all only post what we can remember best as best as we can.

Hope you younger folks understand.

I wanted to sum up my apprieciation of all of you for all these years.
got strayed off on my own problems.

The best of the best was always the anual post by LC.
The Anual Archer Harvest.
Every fall I would at least view if not post replys on this thread.
It was wonderful to read the stories and see the pictures.
Many reminded me of my own bowhunting experiances.
But many of you put it best in your own words.
Made it real, made me think and remember.

Thank you all.

The ABOL Archery thread has been a great infuance on me and my life.
I hope young people in AB get to experiance the same thing.
:-) Bones.

Hey Bonescreek thanks for the tips on Turkey hunting, I finally connected with a nice Tom last fall.

Why are you saying goodbye? Not really my business but I just wanted to say I hope all is well with you.

I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciated getting to
know all of you. I felt it best to say so sooner rather than later
because of recent health events.

In early May 2018 I was bit by a texas lone star tick and contracted
Rocky Mt. Spotted fever AND AlphaGal (red meat alergy).

In late Oct. 2018 I started to come down with Pnamonia (sp?).
After 6 weeks of being on 2 different antibotics with a week in between
I got worse and spent 2 days and nights in the hospital on IV antibotics.
They did a MRI while I was in there and found 2 golf ball sized tumors
in my right lung. Went in with a scope and did biopies.
Put me on a 5th antibotic for 2 more weeks and sent me home.
Dec. 28th.

Did catscans and more mri's at the cancer center, found it in several
lymph glands, spleen, brain. That makes it stage 4 (found in 4 organs).

I start my first treatmeant this Thursday.

Because of the uncertanty of the outcome of my quality of life, not
being able to hunt, fish, target shoot or simply even walking around
any fair distance I wanted to post a note to you all in case things
go south.

After talking to the specalist at the cancer center today about my
chances for recovery and side effects of the treatment I have every
reason to beleve I will have a great and fast recovery!

If it works I don't need chemo, if it don't then I do.
I was tested and found to be 100 percent compatible for the new treatment,
1 every 3 weeks for 2 years with a possiblity of stopping the treatment
some time in the future after the 2nd year (cured).

Sorry about all the details but wanted to let you know why I posted
that I may find it hard to visit this site if things go bad.

Never underestimate the power of positive thinking and your body healing itself.
These things happen.
Keep telling your brain to heal the body and it can happen!

We're with you!!

Very humbled by you sharing this Bonescreek. Although we've never met, I give you my faith to keep with you. I wish you well in your journey and an easy recovery.

We live in amazing medical times and I hope you do well. Have faith. It been ten years this year that I was told to get my things in order and prepare due to a blood cancer and I am still here and able so I know life can rebound.

X2, keep your head up buddy, I too am a regular at the cross cancer institute, have been battling CLL for 4 years now, some days are good and some are a real struggle but it beats the crap out of the alternative, started a new drug last week so to early to tell if it will or won't work but you can bet that there is not one chance in hell that I will every give up, got 6 grandkids that I'd like to see receive diplomas.

Anyway as Red Bullets said we will put you in our circle of prayers and positive energy, keep the faith man, life is precious.

Well, with a tear in my eye I feel compelled to write a thank you to Bonescreek for a sincere and well written thank you and opening my eyes. With all the uncertainty and political crap going on in this world, a person can get caught up and forget that our health and well being is the most important and to not take things for granted.

Thank you Bonescreek and I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery.

I am so so sorry to hear about your medical issues.

My dad was diagnosed with Stage4 cancer about 11 years ago. Initially they gave him 3-6 month to live. The tough bugger ended up going through a variety of treatments and he was with us for an additional 5 years. We never took it for granted. He got to spend a lot of time fishing with his grand kids and just being a grandpa. The biggest factor in his situation was a positive attitude and something to live for in addition to trusting the doctors.

I've only been bowhunting for a couple years and this forum has been great.
Its people like you who make it what it is.

Thank you all for your kind words.
1st treatment went well, feeling better a bit already.
They offered to give me a blood transfusion (quart low in oil) but I held off and got the iron instead for now. Go back this Friday for a check up and blood if I
want it (not quite in a wheel chair yet so I'll wait if I can).

I do feel better even only after a few days from a treatment (mentally mostly)
and I can now even climb both up an down a set of stairs (that's about it).
I've even been able to sleep for greater than 4 hours lying down at a time,
that's a hugh improvement right there. So I'm finally catching up on rest.

It's gonna be a slow go but looks like it's working and I won't have to do the
chemo.

onetreeman, don't know if I'll be out there for spring turkey but will keep you
posted if I can, thank you.

Red, I've always read your posts, great stuff, your one of people here who
make this forum great. Thank you.

I could go on all night, instead I'ld like to say I am deeply humbled and
would like to finish this reply right here. Make my next new post about
bowhunting in 2019.

Gobble Gobble!

I've been sittin' on my butt for so long, I think I wore a hole in it!
