And that is because of AO members like you, you really ruin the AO experience for many decent people! I honest don't believe you would know a 21" bear if it was standing 20 yards broadside in front of you. Have a nice day and do stop referring to me. Thanks.

Ruin the experience ? By asking to see pictures ?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion about what you think I know about bears edmhunter, but I can honestly say I've field judged thousands of them and I haven't been too far off on the pile we've killed.

Post pictures or don't because you're upset, I don't care either way.

I do have one recommendation for you though, if you're not interested in public opinion perhaps you shouldn't post your opinion on a public forum.

Out of those 25 bears I would say 1-2 are color phase, and I would say I prob only see a good color phase boar every second or third year, most are sows or very young bears.

I'm sure other areas in the province hold a lot higher percentage
Perhaps the people that did the study kept re documenting the same bears...
Honestly wouldnt surprise me.
I might have to go check out the waterton area....
I sure has hell never saw a 55% color phased bear population anywhere.

I'm sure there are areas that do hold that level of color phase Hydro. I've got a client that hunts Idaho for bear with hounds and he says they see upwards of 70% brown color phase in one particular area.
Another outfitter I know in Northern BC kills aprox. 50% color phase bears but they do focus on trying to harvest them.
Maybe I just have bad luck finding them. I missed a giant reddish brown phase about 5 years ago that haunts my bear hunting dreams. Maybe one day I'll get another chance

When I lived in Ft Mac there was a ton of them but that was over 25 years ago....

Mind you the last time I was up that way on business (1 year ago) I saw a nice colour phase that was hit by a truck. I should have picked that guy up!!!

Back in the mid '90's and for the first 5 years of the 2000's we went fishing every June in North Western Sask. We would of been 200 - 300 KM East of Fort McMurray and sometimes a little north if you were to draw a line across the map. We always seen bears and often color phase or multiple color phase.

On one occasion we saw a huge bear at quite the distance North of Vermette Lake. My Dad was with us and swears it was a Grizz. I remember discussing this particular trip with him in his final days, and even then he was adamant that we were looking at a Grizz that day....he may very well of been right.
