Good pics Fowler. I keep threatening to do some of that, I always seem to pick up the gun instead. Had cameras and camcorders in the blind with me many times, forgot all about them when the birds show. I almost always take some pics when spotting though.
The one shot of the middle one folding up, looks strange with the back birds one over top of the other like that. Bottom one is hitting the afterburner to avoid the one in front, looks around-- no room!!!AAAAAAGH!!
Had one the on Sat I'd like to have had on vid, flat spin all the way down,
he came straight down from a good 100-120ft.

This could be the single best picture I have seen on this site. Congrats.

Perfect timing to get the pellets just making the marks on the bird. I love it.

These are video still frames from the hunts I was fortunate enough to go on with Fowled reality. So hard to capture that perfect moment with one picture.

Hey guys,

I hope all of you are having a fantastic snow goose season! I was just wondering if any of you guys had any success east of Edmonton area?

I went out by Daysland two weeks ago and didn't see a single snow, hopefully things have changed a little and those high flying buggers are here now.

Anyways, going to try and head east towards/past Vegreville and look for new spots, feel free to shoot me a pm, I would appreciate any tips or pointers.

Forget expert opinion Darryl. My far from expert opinion, and all my experience, is based on small spread hunts. In fact up until this winter I only owned 1 dz snow geese dekes and have had "the vortex" of 5-6k of snows descending upon me and provided some epic mornings. Being on the X makes all the difference.

That same set up will pull few migrators in. For that you need numbers. With our first spring season in mind I picked up another 12 doz snows. Which have still not seen a field yet.

Speaking of which, I will be getting some rare days off this weekend. Does anyone know what the situation is like West of Edmonton? Are there any stragglers left around or have they all moved on?

Being on the x don't mean squat for snows.they come to the white decoys wherever you are in the feild.doubt you will find any snows west of the city.may be the odd litl bunch but I doubt it.

This was my first Snow Goose hunt this year. Shared the experience with my brother and 11 yr old son. Had an awesome time in Sask on some beautiful grain land surrounded by pastures with ponds/sloughs. I will be a return hunter for sure, and my boy who will be legal for next season is hooked as well

There were plenty on Chip lake at the start of the month but my wife went by there on the weekend and said they are all gone I wonder if the early spring has had any effect on migration dates? I have never paid attention in the spring before since we had no season anyway.

I think this may be the case. I have seen a flock of snows in the fall of about 200-300 around Cherhill though on Hwy43.

Default geese east of Beaverhill lake

Went out to Vegreville last Sunday and saw some huge (I mean darken the sky huge) flocks south of hwy 16 between there and the Miquelon area. Unfortunately all were on private land. Anyone know of public access land in this area. The conservation sites are so poorly marked how can anyone find them? Except of course the Bowthorpe site which does not allow hunting and was teeming with geese.

Just had around 1,000 of them fly over my house on the west end of Edmonton heading north-west, was great to see.
