yeah its not bad, lots of perch and a few pike. Can really hammer the slough sharks if you target them though.

The biggest one we got was about 11 in. The fish were biting on maggots and shrimp with wire worms and small jigs.

i think i might try minnows for perch. I have caught big perch there before with minnows in their mouths. I reckon it would ward the smaller ones away and increase the chances of better fish. I will try it tomorrow and see how she works'

pretty darn good! got my limit of keepers in 2 hours. with more medium sized fish instead of those little 3 inch buggers that sleal your maggots. I'll do it again for sure! Gunna go out today but i'm not sure where yet. Maybe Strubel or Cow

lake went to ****e the other day. Was out for 4 hours and while i did manage to catch some they were the smallest perch i have ever laid eyes on! if you held them up to the sun, you could see through them. not to fun to catch 1 1/2 perch. Did manage to get a few keepers but not like usual. I' ve never had it like that, so lets hope it picks up. But all in all a good day for fishing and to work of a good hangover.

Do you ever use spoons or anything, or just bare hooks?

We fish deep at Burnstick and you have to be careful when pulling the fish up that you dont go to fast or the air sacks come out.

Yep slow is the ticket to saving the fish, regardless of if you intend to kill them or not. Haven't fished it this year yet but last year we were getting lots of perch from 20 - 30 ft and pike in there and shallow as well.
