Default how to treat new traps?

I purchased a dozen new balisle 120s and want to know if I have to treat them before I apply die?

Should I boil them in water with detergent first to remove the grease?

Thanks in advance.

I wipe them down with a rag and then toss them outside. Once they get a touch of rust I speed dip them.

Last year someone on here offered me some great advice......Put them in the dishwasher. I have a sanitize setting and a dry cycle on ours and it worked great. They had already started to rust when I took them out and the speed dip dye stuck to them really well.

If you don't have a dishwasher then you'll have to boil them I guess. Once they are boiled and before taking the traps out of the water, add water into the pot until the crud floating on the top spills out over the side.
