Default Lake Newell springs

Good day all,
I have heard of a few places to be aware of on Newell in regards to possible springs and thin ice . I am wondering if anyone is aware of any springs or gas pockets that may be present along the east shore travelling south along kinbrook island provincial park and beyond . I am hoping to do some exploring and any info in that regard would help out tremendously . I plan on finding my own spots but just don't want to do the recon from under the ice . Thank you in advance.

I would not be driving on Newell this year. Ice conditions are too suspect.

there were no tracks heading south of Kinbrook when I was there last week. I didn't even like driving on with my small car.

None that I have specifically seen around the park. 3 of the last 4 years there has been a big pressure ridge that has formed right out front of there though. Some years it's further out from shore, others it's closer in. I haven't noticed one yet this year though.

This was last year

This was 2016
