umm yeah I said Carburn......first pond from the parking lots has nothing, middle pond has pike and perch and the third one down by glenmore seems to have quite an assortment....I was told there's a big school of whitefish in that pond but I've never fished it.

Good thread. I am in Calgary, went to Bow River yesterday to find it unfishable (at least for me). I am curious on all the local area lakes/ponds that are accessible. Will be moving the family up in July (McKenzie Lakes), lease comes with lake access. However, I am looking for alternative spots to take my 10 year old boys. At the moment we don't have a boat (might have to fix that), as we are leaving our boat behind in Texas for the duration of our 2-3 year assignment.

Default Wading flyfishing trip to Bow

Due to an alinement of the planets (kids with ex, wife away with her kids), I can finally get away for my very first flyfishing trip on the Bow River on Wednesday 7 July. Am coming from the Spruce Grove area and am willing to give a ride to 1, maybe 2 others, preferably someone who knows the river in the vicinity of Policeman's Flats, or another start point if recommended by attendees (driving a 4 door mid-sized car). I will be wading, heading out really early (departing Edmonton region between 3:30 and 3:45am) and will be fishing all day. About me... non-smoker, early 40's soldier who likes to fish hard (maybe not well) and I get along with mostly everyone (on the legal side of the law). Anyone wanting to share gas costs and are serious about going please PM me.....

Hey guys I have saturday to Wednesday off. I'm planning to go out of the city (calgary)a few times within a few hours for day long fishing trips (different place every day kinda thing). I would be willing to hike up to an hour if needed. I am open to trying new spots but usually go south to chain or PCR or out to Canmore or several places in Kananaskis. I'd love to try your favorite spot if you have one....i'll drive
Id love to have someone accompany me on these day trips....let me know when you are available and where you would like to go. I'm looking to go somewhere tomorrow. Maybe a different place each day.

Message me guys if you are interested.
