I just heard the feds want to do a study on this hunt to determine if these gophers are migratory. Will need a special federal permit if their study concludes, that gophers cross borders either above or below ground!

Everyone take a breath while the feds do their thing. I'm sure it will only take 7 or 8 years for them to conclude this study. They will be holding town halls, and sending out surveys to get your opinions

One needs to be able to find ammo in any small town corner store in the event you run out or forget it at home
'06 should be ok as long as they aren't attacking you, then you may consider 338 Lapua mag. Can we bait?

I have a large population of gophers on my land base. Looks like a first class lodge with top guides is in order. I will work hard to put you on trophy gophers so your new licence will be well worth it. For a few bucks a year I will lock up all my neighbours land. It will be a true first class experience.

Ahh, the rest of the story. So wife & I are shooting gophers yesterday & I get this hare-brained idea. Buuuut I forget to tell the rest of the mod team. So then, first thing this morning I write the post. Then, because I'm at work, I have to beg the boys to just eliminate any posts that connect the dots to April 1st.

So, I have restored the well-thought out replies that were hidden momentarily. I should have executed my little fable better.

Certainly hope I didn't unintentionally tick anyone off, it was not my intent.

In order to get people to buy in, the story has to seem at least a tiny bit feasible. This one was just too much of a stretch.

I am just stating that April Fools pranks are the most fun, if you can get some people to believe them . Everyone saw through this one, because it was a little too far out there.

When it comes to April first, everybody is sceptical.

But on election day, there is one born every minute.

Most of the meat on a ground squirrel is not good. All I ever take is the backstraps and if they are damaged I leave them. It is wonderful in a ginger beef type recipe.

At work we would usually take a rumor that had been going around, and make it out to be true. Because it had been a rumor already, it would be easier for some people to believe. And if someone bought in, we would string them along for a while, then exaggerate things until everyone finally caught on that it was a prank.

Darn, almost believed that in Trudeau's Canada. Hope to get out there to give the gophers some good lovin' this year, but it'll more likely be a bigger 2025 thing.

Since gophers are a significant source of CO2 emissions, given their vast numbers, will there be a carbon tax rebate for every one you shoot ?

Default Is a 6.8-06 enough for gophers?

Would a 6.8 06 be gopher approved?

or a 264 creedmoor

The carbon tax made it nearly legit. Tax on tax on tax.
