You will not usually have any problems getting permission from Farmers, Just as long as you are respectfull and leave the area as you found it.
I also agree that being a bowhunter myself, it is easier to get access to land, Mostly due to those farmers who have cattle. There has been more than one occation where a stray bullet has injured someones horses or cows. and that never looks good on any hunter.
