Seen it done on one of my predator huntin videos...and heard of it a few more times. I've enticed a few to poke their heads up by getting some freshly killed gophers placed on the upwind side of a hole you can tell they are currently residing in(no gopher tracks and a defined belly slide)....missed them with the bow everytime somehow when sitting 15 yrds away and waiting...but got some hair off one and a pretty good growl.

Default yep

I've called badger using a higher pitch[think rabbit or rodent] sound on one of my open reed calls.

Some were called from their holes and some just out an about.

Default Badger

25-06;

I shot one years ago. I was up at the inlaws farm near Redwater, had been walking in one of the fields and saw the fierce looking guy in some tall grass. I walked back to the farmhouse, got the "house gun"-it was a 30-30 that was kept in a closet by the door, and went back looking for the badger.

After a few minutes looking, I ended up shooting it at about a 10 foot range, it would have made mince meat of my legs had I missed at such a short distance! The claws and the teeth are made for action! A small version of a wolverine I guess.

I had wanted to skin it, but the wifes grandpa said that they stunk too much and it wasn't worth it. I had no experience with them so I did not argue the point. Looking back now, it would have made a nice little mount for display as a rug or maybe even stuffed!

Let us know what kind of success you have . . .

Called one out of it's hole by whistling like a gopher once.
