Default Treated myself to a custom rod

Ran into a rod builder on another forum out of Michigan and liked his rods so much I had to get one for myself. It's a long story about why I decided to get one but lets just say its been a good 17 months hanging out with Bill W and Dr. Bob. And I thought it was about time to reward myself. It's a 7'6 4WT on a MHX blank, med/fast action.

I like the old school spiral wrap on the butt sections. Cool rod.

I've been treatin' myself too, I've ordered a series of glass flyrods from a rod designer/builder in California,

Hi Norman:

You have obviously done your homework on custom rods.

Have you ever heard of some custom rods coming out of the Colorado State Priison. They are made by some prisoners in there. Or maybe this is a hearsay story.

Thanks anyway for the beautiful pictures.

Cheers.

I haven't heard that before but it defiantly sounds interesting, I have no doubt they would make some very creative rods with all their spare time.

Beautiful rod, I hope it fishes as good as it looks for you.

Bill W and Dr. Bob have a way of increasing the quality of everything in one's life.

Greylynx,

A few years ago I saw a documentury about these builders from what I could see they wrapped blanks beautifully. They had develloped many intrecate (sp?) wraps.

Then just recently I recieved this link on FB. It makes you answer a question before you read the article.

Great looking rod, nice fat hand grip

Life brings us many 'hurdles' and at the same time shows us many 'bridges'. We all need to take time to reward ourselves for 'hard work'.

Enjoy you new gear Norman
