Default Re-newing PAL on line

Mine is up for renewal shortly and have looked at the online option for renewal. It states you can use your phone to take the picture but it has to be in jpeg format what ever that is. Does my iphone take jpeg pictures?

thanks

New Year is popular time for PAL renewals, I guess...

Here is a very recent thread,

See my reply. London Drugs does a great job on photos. COSTCO will only give you a hard-copy, so they are only useful for your initial licence photo, not renewals. London Drugs will give you option for e-mailed photo which you can attach to your renewal file. Easy-peasy...

I just got mine back. It only took a couple weeks to get. Not a fan of selfies but it worked taking one with a white background.

Just renewed mine, no problems, take a picture, answer the questions, submit payment. Now waiting for it to arrive,

Renewed online & was pleasantly surprised to get my new card in about 2 weeks. Took a selfie (I call 'em narcisisty's) against a white wall and paid my gun tax. Very easy compared to last time.

Did mine online and used the iPhone pic as well, super easy, old card had already expired about a month prior to application and I had no issues.

I'm worried if I take a selfie it will not be the correct parameters.

Not sure if if I should just get it done someone to be safe.

Just stand against a painted wall and ensure your face is filling most of the picture. I wouldn't worry. It is a digital picture so they can crop or contract the picture if they had to.

Just look at your PAL card and make sure your new picture fills the same amount of the frame. Basically your head and a bit of your shoulders. If all else fails get a woman or child to help. They are normally great at it! haha.

Last time I applied I had a had a passport picture,it was just as well if I'd gotten a kid to take it with a cheap camera, when I got the pal in the mail the picture was disgusting.,so yes a selfie would work.

Applied. We will see what they say.

Might take a bit longer than normal as I am currently unemployed and had to check that box.
