It's not that they wanted the MED colour more, it's that simple testing of the market, not being sure how bad the other guy wants the coyotes and how much the other guy will bid. Sometimes you will see sales where the buyers want the goods, but sit on their hands, not wanting to push the price, ALWAYS wanting the bargain, always trying to save a few bucks.

They have to test their buddies to see if they are aggressive or not, play the game and hope it pays off. If you are a buyer and you bid super aggressive, it can set the stage/level/bar and cause other folks to panic buy, whereby then you pay more than if you are cautious/patie, whereby having the same effect on their buddies on down the line.

It's not,all about how bad you want it, it is about how you play the game.

How'd you RFMA guys make out with your lynx, marten, etc? It looked like lots of Buy Back for the lynx yesterday and I see that the marten are now sold.

Our marten prices were down. Fur grades were better than last year but sold for less. Still for us it was not bad as we don't caught more than 8 a year. Guys with marten as there line main stay may not be to happy.

Marten prices down alittle from last year, my XL best was $85 and averaged $52. Top lot fisher went for $116, Top lot marten heavy was only $188, last sale in may 2017 was $350 for top lot XXL. Marten sold 100% and Fisher at 90%, the buyers did not like off color fisher.

Well that helps a little. Glad I went after coyotes this yr and not beaver. All my averages were up compared to last year so can’t complain on that. Except for my lynxs.

Anyone selling any pelts Private Treaty? I have two beaver and two red fox left that didn't sell on the auction. Doesn't seem to be any interest in fox though. Not a big deal except that I like to see everything go.

Did you end up with a top lot SM fisher? My SM's were in the second lot, but I will get a slip for both MED and LGE sizes. Overall average was up from last years Fishers, but still quite low compared to years past.

Spruce did not send any fisher for first sale, will see what happens in June sale.
Last year had one $82 small *1 LBR when average was $56.
