Didn't see this thread yesterday when I posted the story of this guy.
Muzzy Mx-3 worked like a charm.
Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season!

Default 2014 Archery Harvest Thread....post your Pics

I got my first ever moose with the bow in zone 248 not huge but an excellent trophy on the table! Super pumped! She died about 60 yards after the shot. Mamba M7 and the G5 T3's did their job.

Great to see everyone's success. No big game for me yet. Came close to some elk, just not close enough. These will have to do until next days off. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411959482.463558.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1411959511.721433.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1411959533.125873.jpg
Took a few with the 22 also

Default 2014 archery elk

elktime.jpg

Two cow calls then stopped. 30 mins later saw the white tips. Praying the earth scent cover would hold and the cow urine on my hat, he stopped at 29 yds when he saw me draw.
Toxic broadhead, old school Bowtech 82nd airborne. He made it 30yds and expired. I was alone so that kinda sucked but at the same time it sure was a peaceful evening.
Good luck in 2014 all. Aim small, miss small.

Default 2014 Bull Moose

Called him in Saturday morning not a monster but he will taste fantastic. 28yrd shot with the bowtech. My heart was pounding as he approached me with his eyes rolled back head swaying side to side. It was awesome!!!!!!

Here is a picture of the moose we got yesterday morning, called into 25yards....this is exactly how he looked when we found him, nicknamed him "photo moose".

Here's the one I got obviously on the 19th, lol. Called him in for a 25 yard shot. He was reluctant but in the end he couldn't stop himself. He was dying to get killed he'll be good eating! Kurt that is a Cranker that you shot nice bull!

Some great moose everybody!
Reddeerhunter, mighty fine elk. No shortage of work going solo, too.
Ha, photo moose... too funny. Looks content.
Kurt, I'd love to hear if the older ones really are tougher eating, or if people just say that because they wish theirs was that big. I'm not convinced anyone would know the difference...but can't speak from experience.
Great thread!

Edit:
PS: the better eating comment refers to someone I showed the pic to, not people on here...Definitely not digging the people claiming better table fare on here. Just thought I noticed some jealousy after showing the pic and so am curious if it's noticeable. Always assumed people mean good table fare (only) as opposed to good table fare and check out this monstrous rack to go with it

Thanks everyone! My bull was destiny. It's a long story but if there was no fire at Chicago airport, and I never left my wallet on my dresser at my cabin, I never would have got him.

I was out for all last week for elk mostly, but I only caught the tail end of the rut, things were slow and quiet but about Wednesday I heard the first grunts. They are in full swing now, this guy came in looking for a fight.
