Default Great Day At Mcgregor Today With A Nice Surprise

I went to McGregor Lake today to catch some whites. I got a nice surprise at dawn when I pulled in a nice rainbow. I did not weight it but it is nice and big. I went to the dam after that and met Will (slingshotz) and his wife and fished for whites with them. I caught a small one first and finished my day off with a nice big one. Here is a pic of the rainbow, the first little white in my hands and then the 3 of them in my basement bathtub pre-gutting. Slingshots kept catching pike and saw a monster burbot under the ice by the dam.

The ice was crappy right along the dam. I chose instead to walk from the shore near the outhouse at the campsite to where everybody was fishing because it was pretty thin along the rocks. The ice was 5-6 inches thick. There were swarms of whitefish swimming past us. It was pretty cool to see.

That is a gorgeous trout! The picture is beautiful too - well framed and composed. Nice! Are you a photographer?

I do take lots of photos and love doing so. However, this was taken on my broken camera that does not have an LCD anymore because I dropped it when I slipped on the hill down from Champion Lakes a few months ago. Thanks so much by the way.

I actually just used the soft rod as a secondary rod and caught the rainbow on a new rod I bought yesterday at the Fishin Hole. I took your advice and got something a lot sturdier so I can set the hook better. I also bought a bunch of Wetaskiwins like you advised and that is what I caught all my fish on.

THere were lots of tents out on the lake. Mostly by the boat launch. There was one right behind me in the picture but my fat head is blocking it from view.

Nice fish, great pic's. Your wife lets you use the bathtub to lay your fish in and then clean them "my God she is a keeper".
