Ya most walleye and pike lakes are still closed but there is a few in Southern Alberta open at least and most stocked trout lakes are open all year.

Maybe you don't understand the word very well.
But maybe you can fool some.

Don't need a good ankle to sit on a boat and relax.

Default my first trout ever

I went just off the deer foot past Lorne of marquis, and caught my first trout ever. 8:30 in the morning, no wind in about 30 inches if water. It (rainbow) measured 13 inches, not sure if that is the norm, but it seemed nice to me. Clean live release. Caught her on a 1 inch silver mepps spinner. I was so stoked after I neglected to get a pic. Happy none the less.

Cool

Quick report: stauffer coloured with the odd stone showing.
:red deer above sundre coloring up quick. Two nice 14" browns released.
:Beaver 30% open no activity to speak of.
: James very dirty & rising. Few reluctant follows.
Had a bruiser bull on for a short time fishing of the high bank limited my options on the upper red deer.
: Burnstick still poor ice at campground.
Hope every one had safe happy weekend of fishing 1st real weekend of the 2013 open water season .
