Ugly win. Sloppy play. Poor positioning. Okay goal tending. Huberdeau looks confused. Kadri looks lost. Forth line trying hard.

We have room to improve so future looks okay. Fingers crossed.

Default Anderson 4 games

For the hit to the head of Laine, he's going to miss the BOA Heritage Classic

Depending on when the appeal process is I believe they can keep playing while the appeal process is taking place. Then the suspension starts once the appeal decision has been made.

But they got an outside game to look forward to.....both Flames and Oilers suck so they might as well suck together

Now the question will be who sucks the most

Not a huge fan of Anderson to be honest, sure glad he wasn't made captain, and don't mind him sitting out for 4, 8, 50 games.

The NHLPA is a weird duck though, on one hand, they have an injury prone member who was flattened and is out, and then on the other they are appealing to the league to get the suspension reduced for the perpetrator.

This is just cherry picking. Sutter wasn't "the" problem, he was "a" problem.

I’m noticing a trend.
Last year Calgary severely outshot opponents yet failed to make playoffs.
This year it’s looking the same.
Still using the same mind set.
Something better change with that.
Do we(oops), “you guys”, need better finishers or instead of just getting the puck to the net, make that extra pass or two?

I think its getting close to the time to blow this team up. Trade all these overpaid spoiled brats that arent producing to what their salaries indicate, and look forward to a young, fast exciting future team when the new arena opens. If they keep these same underachievers and somehow sign Lindholm and Hannifin, there will be many season ticket holders gone for good. And someone above hit the nail on the head, Sutter was "A" problem, NOT "THE " problem. This new softer coach has his work cut out. Flames will not make the playoffs this year.

Only $7M per for another 6 years. He's worth it.

Easier said than done, as some of these contracts are quite poor with how the player is currently performing. An example, I expect we'd have to pay for someone to take Kadri and his $7M cap hit for 5 more years with his on-pace stats of 12 pts and +/- -94 for the season. Not a huge Kadri fan either, he'd be the first to go if possible. Anyway I'd definitely be trading Lindholm, Hanifin, and Tanev for picks/prospects. The issue then being you bring in a bunch of young guys and have them looking up to the veterans, Kadri and Huberdeau, for the next 5 years...

Lindholm is a helluva player man. Backlund as well. Flames support/complimentary guys just haven't kicked it into gear yet. Same in Edm. Mangiapane is doing ok. Dube less so. Coranato looks great and so does Ruzicka. Some very nice prospects in the A. Conversely Kadri and Coleman are wastes of oxygen but lots of teams have those.

Still too early

If things don't improve by December, I can see the Flames trying to get rid of some of the high priced help like Kadri. Whether they gut the team and do a total rebuild will depend upon how serious the Flames are in building a contender.

Zadorov had quite the 'take' on the situation.

Another Kadri screw up, another one in the back of the net. What a bum.

So the Flames and Oilers have played 15 games between them. And between them they have won 3. Of 15. And Flames have won twice as many games as Oilers.

I don't even know how to express how absolutely awful both teams are.

But, really really bad. Sucking chest wound no medical care in sight bad.

Missing playoffs by Halloween bad.

Bleeding eyes bad.

Drink till your liver implodes trying to dull the pain bad.

But at least the Flames are better then Oilers.

Pffffffffttttttþ......

Don’t see how you’re going to be able to trade Kadri or huberdeau based on their last year+ of play, it may be a rough few years. I guess hope for ltir for at least one of them. Ideally they just start playing at least half decent and we slug it out for a while and build up the rest of the team.

100%.

Both teams are sloppy and seem utterly disinterested.

Deadmonton's got nothing without McJesus; and Calgary is where you go if you want your career to die (see: Huberdeau, Kadri).

Default what now?

There is some sort of malaise in the dressing room when you can't make a good pass, can't take the rare good pass , lazy turnovers everywhere, can't hit an open net. After Kadri's very lazy turnover on the power play that turned into a shortie, he is still out there for the face off at center. He should be nailed to the bench for the rest of the period no matter how much he makes. Spare the rod spoil the year. Easy money taking the under every game.

Not Flames, but I found this interesting:

-The last undefeated team, the Knights at 7-0, are now defeated, losing to the, what was 30th placed team, the Blackhawks;

-The 2nd last undefeated team, the Bruins at 6-0, were defeated, losing to the, what was the 29th place team, the Ducks; and,

-The 3rd last undefeated team, the Avalanche at 6-0, were defeated, losing to the, what was the 27th place team, the Penguins.

Or, close enough....
