Question Star lake help

So I went out to Star on Sunday. I haven't ice fished for trout in years, I saw lots of fish but just couldn't get them to bite. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Small flies (chironomids and shrimp) and weighted micro leeches and mini wooly buggers jigged below the ice...more wiggle than hard jigging.

Default Star Lake

Well we were out all day Saturday 4 of us along with the camera and the only fish we saw or even heard of that trip was one caught beside us. No bites no sightings. So you did better than us.

Star Lake drives me nuts

I love trout ice fishing

Star has trout

My sons go and pound trout from 3 pm until past dark

I go. May as well stay home.

Same times, same lure, same location.

Im a sucker for punishment. Good thing that gas station sells alcohol.....

Last year I caught a bunch there and when cleaning I noted that their stomachs were all full of small 1/3rd to 1/2 inch dark brown/black snails that they were picking off the weeds. So I'd fish the weeds and use small dark colored gulp or dark colored flies that I'd very lightly jig in weed beds
