Default Looking for a Specific Batter Mix Powder

Years ago I remember buying a fish batter powder in a simple white bag (same type of paper bag as flour comes in) from Co-Op if my memory serves me correctly. Again if I remember correctly the bag was plain white with blue printing and a simple description like "Fish Batter" and a picture of a fish. When deep-fried the batter turned a yellowish color. It was very good. Does anyone remember such a batter mix? Does it still exist? Thanks.

I know the exact stuff you are speaking of. My mom used that for years when we were growing up. I just called her to see if she had some in the cupboard, but no luck. She is pretty sure you can still buy it at Safeway or Superstore.

It is called King of Fish Battermix

Made by Billingsgate: Their web site is

They have a store in Edmonton and one in Calgary. Some ofthe stores used to sell it. I buy it buy the case and like it on Halibit and also deep fried shrimp.

butcher and packers in edmonton also puts out a really good batter we've used. it comes in a plain white paper bag with just a simple label. very generic looking.

That King of Fish Batter from Billingsgate Fish Market is the one. The've upgraded their packaging since 20 years ago but as soon as we fried up some fish I could see it was the same one. Man that's good stuff! Thanks for helping me find it again.
