2014 Hard Water Derby Results
As most on here should know there was a winter long hard water derby ( Link) held this winter and it just came to a finish this past weekend. I would like to thank all of the people that participated in it this year and I hope that we can get even more participation in the open water derby this summer(I will be posting information about it in a bit).
This season it was a hard fought battle for top spot between 4 members(Super Mario, PlatinumBarMan, Rafhone and Myself). I would like to give a special congratulations to Super Mario for being this years hard water derby Ultimate Alberta Angler(most combined total inches), for catching the largest Alberta Slam(largest combined pike, walleye and rainbow) and also for catching the largest sucker. All of these members as well as those that won the longest fish by species categories deserve a round of applause.
I will be putting together some signatures for the winners and hopefully will have them ready in a week or so. Again thanks to those that took part and remember to keep your eyes open for the open water derby thread when it shows up.
Here are the final standings.

Good work everyone I really wish I could have competed for total inches but just didn't have the gas money to go for the trout near the end. Thanks Chris! Hey ravyak does everyone who got the largest fish of each species in their signature or do just the three category winners get signatures?

I wish I didn't get addicted to perch fishing, I was on a serious roll, had 5 species within a week or two, then just stuck to perch fishing lol...
At least I got my name on something, biggest Brookie !
Thanks for all the effort you put in organizing and updating RavYak , much appreciated !

Big shout out to Rav for running the derby and all the updates he consistently posted (even though he snagged largest rainbow from me in the 11th hour). He says it wasn't much work, but I think he's being modest. It was fun to participate and see all the entries. Look foreward to open water derby. Hope more members get involved.
Congrats to Super Mario for being overall winner (I think). Never count the oldtimers out.

I still can't believe Mario caught a sucker of all fish on the final weekend to beat me. What are the chances lol.
I will try and make up decent signatures for all the winners, if anyone doesn't want one let me know as it would save me some time.

Congrats Super Mario
Congrats on the win Super Mario! And thanks Rav for all your work behind the scenes. This was the first AO derby I've ever entered so now that I know the routine I'll return with a vengeance next year haha. Looking forward to ice off and already starting to plan our first trips!

Most lakes in southern Alberta close on the 16th and those that are open have little to no ice.

Been fairly busy lately but got the first signature done for Super Mario. Will keep working on the others when I get time.
Here is a link you can copy and paste into signature settings.

I know you are looking forward to yours so here it is. I wonder if you will notice the differences?
I will keep plugging away with the rest for those that want them.

Now if only I could see if it's working or not, I'm not sure if I will see it or just the link, I don't think it's working.
