There's a lot of not so intelligent people on the ice every year unfortunately

Interesting how much more ice is at LLB. How deep is Ethel?

Default Lac Ste Anne, West Cove

16” of solid clear ice over in West Cove. Fishing was mediocre.

I have readings of 78FOW before but that fluctuates, we were sitting on 20FOW and jaw jackers at 10-15FOW.

maybe 4 inches of snow on top of really good dark ice, skating rink smooth too.

Out on Pigeon Lake this afternoon. Drove quad on at Mulhurst. There is a pressure ridge at shore but no issues for a quad or sled. Fishing at Silver beach point in 9 FOW and the ice is 15-16” of good quality. Just started and whites are cruising by up higher but not fishing for those. Nobody out here which is surprising.

Saw a few trucks on the ice at calling. Looks like about 16 inches of good ice.

X2 We we’re fishing straight out from the provincial park, measured 17 inches of clear dark ice and no snow in some spots. Made for some awesome sight fishing through the ice with the tent setup even without a sight hole

The lake I was on this past week has 8" nice clear ice. Watched a fellow pull up to his shack yesterday with his pickup and park next to it. His shack is only 50 feet from the boat launch in 5' of water. Guess it was too far for him to walk? Eight inches is a bit light for my comfort to drive a truck on but someone always has to be the first. Personally I prefer 12"-15" clear ice before taking a truck on.

I took the dogs for a walk that afternoon at Chickakoo and saw your fresh holes! Wondered if whoever was out caught anything! Appreciate the update.

didnt really measure the thickness, it was thicker than Friday when it was 14 at the spot. 5 small pike and 2 eyes lost at the ice, not big enough to dive for got thundering loud for a while but its nice clear ice, maybe a couple inches of snow or so on top. no one else in sight just a bunch of yappy yotes singing to me not far off

same spot as the 10 pounder. I dont worry much about losing them, until I see one that makes me start to get shaky, then I dive like a pro soccer player to grab them the first I lost was maybe a gooder, didnt even know it was an eye til it was too late , thought it was just a decenter pike. second one wasnt much over 5 pounds not even worth standing up for . but then again Im rather spoiled for big fish going to fish the next 2 days I will do the north bit and check it out unless the winds howling, I cant see worth much when the lights gone and I tend to get lost .

Excellent...that's fully driveable then. Not too close to the big crack down the middle of the lake? How was the fishing? Curious what you see in around 25fow...

23 FOW caught 3 more hammers, saw a school of wee perch maybe 10 feet from bottom, and a few eyes. Had several bite but only miraculously landed 1 of them, reel crapped out so I had to handline it up, came off the hook in the hole, grabbed the tail but it slipped out of my hand so I just grizzlybeared it out with my paw and actually got it on the ice. not worth taking out the tape I doubt it was much more than 24. Big pressure ridge is out quite a ways. Even had a bird hopping around on the tent so I helped it get airborn

awesome story - love it! Do you drive out to that spot, Wayne, or do you walk all the way from the parking area?

What part of the lake is that?Grandview always seems to have some ice heaves that grab vehicles every year. With the cold temps and no snow i thought it would be good by now.

Yesterday we drove completely around pigeon lake and didn't see the suburban so it must have gone thru the ice today. Only one lone fisherman was on the ice yesterday. Only three shacks on the ice by crystal springs/norris beach area but no one fishing. One shack by Mulhurst. We stopped at pretty well every boat launch around the whole lake and none seemed do-able for a car. Lots of small ice heaves that would bottom out a car close to shore.
