Default Good deal on primers

Found a great deal if you need primers and don't mind selling a kidney.

When you want to load your own but want to make sure it costs more than factory ammo.

Jeez, I would be happy to get a mere $80 a hundred…
Nice if you can get suckers to bite.

I have seen a lot of Ginex LR primers available on line for what I think is an insane price of $25 a sleeve.

I had one guy pestering me for primers about 18 months ago, and I told him about a store an hour away, that had stock at $100/brick. Of course he didn't buy any, and he was pestering me again 6 months later, when no store had any. I finally got tired of him pestering me, and told him, that when he was ready to pay $1000/ brick, I would
sell him some. That was the last time that he pestered me .lol

I have helped out some friends that were stuck, for small
rifle and magnum primers since, because I had enough
to spare, but I get tired of certain people that won't help themselves, so when they ask, they get my" I don't want to sell" price.

Thankfully SR primers are relatively easy to find.

See a Tesro newsletter saying they have Ginex LRP, under 100.00 a brick. No idea what freight is on them from there, not sure I want to know. Would be curious if anyone has bought primers or powder out of Ontario lately, and what they got dinged on them. My first instinct, is not under 50.00, and nobody would admit to it anyway.

I just ordered 6 lbs of powder from Higginson’s… UPS was $48. Not bad at all.

Imagine if he made the 24 pound free shipping threshold!

I don't check Higginson's all that often, just doesn't come up in my poor pea brain, and the few times I have checked, didn't have what I wanted anyway. Looks like it's still possible to get about a 10-15% frt rate on a 500.00 order, which is somewhat liveable. Costs me a min of 75.00 to go to Cgy and back, so, that's what I gauge things by these days. Nice part for now is, I don't really NEED it, but, still keep looking, as I don't see this stuff getting any cheaper any time in the near future, too many companies owned by big conglomerates isn't helping the situattion.

Just checked my Higginson order.
2 bags of brass, 3 single dies, 4 lbs of powder and 500 rounds of 300 gr plated bullets, only $58 freight.

I saved more than that right there on the 4 lbs of powder that I would have bought locally for $84/ lb, instead it was just over $46/lb.

I'm all about shopping local and supporting local, but you can't tell me that it cost the local shop that much to get the powder here to BC as it would for me to pay to bring it in with special freight.

That said, the bulk of the price was for shipping what I'm sure is 20+ lbs of the 500 rounds of 300 gr tips.

Bonus, looks like I'm set to sling some lead in a week or so when my dies make it in. Should have a load set up ready for bear season.

And yep, I did also hit up Cabellas for their free shipping. Needed some things and their price with shipping was still the cheapest option out there that I could find, and yes I looked. Other shop was $59.99 shipping for only half of what I ordered from Cabellas, so another win. I gotta laugh at those freight charges from some outfits.

That's pretty reasonable considering the weight, bulk size, along with powder.
