Default Fishing sonar

I'm looking to buy Hummingbird Helix 9 and would like someone who has one or knows there stuff on what is the best generation and why. Limited here for any outlets so would have to order one and don't want the hassle of having to return it. If anyone has any other suggestions on a different model I would like you input. Thanks

In terms of brands, it's a Chevy/Dodge/Ford debate. In terms of "which generation", always the newest one you can afford.

The Helix 9 is a great unit and if you can get the newest model, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Not sure when comparing other models to hummingbird helix line up but I got a gen4 7 and 5 and they are simply great units.

The 7 is for the boat with down/side imaging and the 5 is the all season bundle used for ice fishing and kayak fishing

Great, accurate and reliable units

Got a garmin striker 4 for ice and yak fishing too
Great unit a 3rd the price cheaper
