Default Can you catch pike by shorefishing?

Hi again,

As you can probably tell by now, this being my second post today. I am not familar with the Alberta lakes for fishing. Mainly, because I'm from the East coast.

Anyway, I live in Calgary and I would like to try fishing for a Pike. I've never tried catching one yet, but I bet there an awesome fish to catch. Are there any lakes nearby that I could have decent success catching a pike this time of year by only shorefishing?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default Glenmore Res.

Try the resevoir. I've caught quite a few by the canoe club on the northwest side over the years.

Chestermere is pretty decent right now but they are all hammer handles but in good numbers right now. That is only like a 15 min drive east on the number 1 highway. I am headed up to Pigeon Lake on saturday to meet up with BBJ and Redneck possee.
