Default Calling Lake anyone ??

Hey Guys,
I will be heading to Calling Lake this weekend,
just wondering how is fishing there,
has anyone been up there recently, any tips or preferable depths for Walleyes? , I read the north shore is full of weeds , would the south side be more productive ?

thanks.

Default Calling Lake

We were there on tuesday.Trolled all of the east side to the tower.Caught 2 small pike and one hit.
Moved to volkswagon point, fishing was slow but we did manage to get one pike and three walleye.Twoo walleye around 5lbs and one 6.5 lbs.
We were using jigs with long 7 inch wiggly tails black in color. Also green or white jig heads with minnows.
Fish were deep........40 plus feet of water.Pretty tough fishing.
Good luck

Hey Morph 1
We were late getting there. Finally got on the water around 11:30 in the morning. One guys line was spooled on backwards so he had to spool it out and rewind it.We trolled the east side till 3 pm then went to volkswagon point.
We stayed until 7:20 pm.
You might say we only got in around 31/2 to 4 hrs of fishing.
And with 4 old farts in the boat who are all set in their ways, everyone wanted to fish their own way,so it was jig for a while, then change hooks, troll
for a while, tangle lines, untangle lines, change hooks again, jig for a while, argue about why we were not catching fish.Check the old guys blood pressure.
Did I mention that we were there for a good time to enjoy fishing.
I think everyone knows where this is going.Yes we do plan on going fishing together again.
If I remember correctly the old guys blood pressure was normal.
240 over 160 but we told him everything was fine so we didn't have to leave the lake early.
Tight lines everyone
