Anywhere there is browns and brookies would be a start...very rare!

Talk to Phil Rowley at the Calgary Fly Fishing Expo which is just in a few weeks. Phil wrote an article about the tiger trout of Manitoba. I can't remember which magazine it was in. But I'm sure Phil will remember.

theres a few lakes in Saskatchewan that have Tigers in them... do some research online and maybe look into joining Saskatchewan Outdoors, I think it is called 
But i remember looking into it and Sask has a few lakes with Tigers in them!

The Place I know of it a lake called Little Bear in Saskatchewan which has some pretty good Tigers hunting in its waters. It is about 2.5hr NE of Prince Albert. and about a 10-11 hr drive from Calgary depening on how fast you drive.

There are Tigers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
There used to be a few in Alberta ( Private)

dumb question time... never heard of tiger trout are they a cross breed???

Cross between a brown and a brookie. A few occur in Alberta but it's extremely rare. I only know of one confirmed tiger trout from Alberta and it was caught by fish and wildlife many many years ago. I would like to see the AFGA request tiger trout stocking in lakes with illegal perch introductions. They're aggressive and would compete with perch better than rainbows do. Had to share that idea even if it only fits loosely into this discussion.

male brook and female brown trout hybrid, yellow brown in color,worm shaped vermiculations on both sides. Average weight0.5 to 1 kg. Record size 4.04 kg. Brookies are also crossed with lakers to produce 'Splake'

They can vary, depending on the stock used to cross the two.

Little Bear Lake itself does not have tiger but a lake very close to it does. That whole area is littered with lakes holding various kind of trout and char. In some of the lakes you have a shot at rainbows, browns, brookies, splake, lake trout and tiger trout all in the same lake. Why don't we have this? In my experience though they could use some tighter limits. Lots of people there fish to fill their freezer and I think it is showing in catch rates.
