Default Wolf bounty?

Heard yesterday that there was a wolf bounty set at $500 each due to damage being caused by the animals in the south. I can't find anything more on this online. Anyone else know anything?

Where did you hear this and who was supposed to be paying the "bounty"?

You are not confusing it with the $ payed out by Sundre and Rocky Trappers association.

Which is a $ amount payed out to help someone who kills a wolf in certain areas so they can have the hide tanned. This is to give a "value added" to the hide so the trapper can get more money for the hide and thus encourage them to go after wolves a little more.

Hunters can also collect on some $ if they are a member in good standing with the Rocky Fish & Game association. As the trappers also must be members in good standing of theses trappers clubs to collect $.

Ok, that is where I heard it, in Cardston County. So that might explain it. Too bad it isn't wider spread than that. Is it the county that is actually paying?
