So, I tried the Strelock app today that enhtr told me about. For my Zeiss Conquest Rapid Z600 I played with the different magnifications and found that a zero of 200yrds and a magnification of x8 put me where I wanted to be.

300 = 300
350 = 362
400 = 400
450 = 450
500 = 500
550 = 537
600 = 593
650 = 650

The Zeiss program says x7.57 and the Strelock program says x8. This is where I want to be going out to the range.

Now that my 7mm08 is wearing a Burris Fullfield II with a Ballistic Plex, I checked that out as well. Although Burris says that the optimum magnification is x14 to use the recticle (with +/- inches involved), the optimum magnification for my ammo is x11 with a 100 yd zero.

200 = 200
300 = 318
400 = 406
500 = 493

I've decided that I don't have enough time to practice and confirm this info therefore I will not shoot past 300 yds this hunting year and confirming the above info will be a project for the range next year.
