Hah, is that ever neat

It's cool to see the different ways people catch fish in other parts of the world

Hey dude, I hope all is well. It's not a field. It's a floating biomass. Weird to walk on, kindda like a waterbed mattress. I broke through one of them over deep water almost two decades ago with 75lbs of weight in my pack while stringing a trapline in November. They can be pretty dangerous places to be. Cool vid though.

I use to do something simular as a kid on the rock...lots of places had huge peat moss rafts extending for 100s of feet from the open water gullies ( usually the open water was only a thin ribbon about 3-10 feet) we would cut some 3-4 inch poles and make a bit of a platform for a bit morestability to get to the open water. one time my buddies foot went right through and it was getting really soft, so befor we headed back we thought it would be a interesing to drop a bait through the hole...wasn't 30 seconds befor he pulled out a nice 2-3 lb brookie, followed by several more..so we started trying this ina few more places and it worked great. usuallu people would ignore these gullies as open water was to hard to get to not realizing there in quite a bit of water between the moss bed and the old lake bottem. never really fould the right conditions here in Albertato produce the same effect, but i am sure it exist under the right conditions.
