Default Chinese flood fish

I watched a video on yt of one of the flooded towns/cities in China 9 or 10 days ago. near the end of one video someone was recording the street from up high, and there were some very big creatures swimming on the flooded road. I can see a definite pointed front end on one, but these things are bigger than delivery trucks! I dont think they are a type of sturgeon, but I could be wrong, definitely. Perhaps a type of giant catfish? The pointy nose sticking out of the water bottom left does look like a sturgeon nose

Chinese Paddle Fish With records of specimens over three metres (ten feet) and possibly 7 m (23 ft) in length, it was one of the largest species of freshwater fish. It was the only species in the genus Psephurus and one of two recent species of paddlefish (Polyodontidae), the other being the American paddlefish (Polyodon spathula

A possible explanation?

B.

Chinese paddlefish went extinct about 10 years ago.

Or maybe not. That's a lot of river at the best of times. Agree they are probably not able to pass the dam to procreate but remnant fish possibly? Princess Auto level science is a thing as we recently saw with said bat germs

Just because some science has been disingenuous and false, doesn’t mean it all is. I genuinely hope they still exist but the amount of time and money going into tracking animals of their status is insane. I’m happy to eat my own words, as all scientists should do if incorrect…

I have a feeling all the fish in that picture are already in someone's soup pot.
