BeeGuy, I don't believe greylynx was saying that they are exactly alike, but that they are alike in that neither can lose standing within the party. I know nothing of Kinsella, so I can't comment on whether or not they're alike in this regard, but I don't think that drawing a parallel necessarily insults those who fought in the war. My grandfather commanded a tank through Europe, and I doubt he'd have had a problem with somebody trying to draw lessons from history.
I would like to point out though, that Goebells did in fact lose favor several times within the party, and many historians believe that it was probably this that led to his reliance on extreme antisemitism as a means of currying Hitler's favor.
