Question Sheep River at Black Diamond

My son and I will be staying at the campground on the Sheep River at Black Diamond on July 18-25 as he has the Junior Prairie Baseball Championships in Calgary during that time. What and where should a guy try for some success, fly and spinning. Thanks in advance.

Not to be nosey, but are you running in and out of Cowtown, do you have stretches of time of 2 hours or greater?

there's a nice stretch of river from the bridge at the campground all the way up river into turner valley. if you get a chance to go further west in K country, do it it's beautiful. check your regs if you go up there as there's a section that is always closed to help protect the bulls. evening dry fly fishing with an olive or brown caddis pattern should get you into fish.

Chances are his tournament is at Shouldice or is it a whole bunch of B-Ball diamonds around town? If your son wouldn't be opposed you could take in some awesome fishing pretty much across the street from Shoulldice,, great spot for Trout and big rockies. I'll send you a PM for Black Diamond/T-Valley and Shouldice.
